    Bio: Dr. Treisha Thorpe Borris has been a life-long fitness, health, and wellness proponent, and has conducted and moderated presentations on “Embracing Emotional Intelligence and Empathy”, “Health and Wellness Seminar with live Fitness Demo”, and “Self-Care Equals Self Preservation.” She is a two-time All-American Collegiate Track and Field Athlete and former Olympic Development athlete, Coach of Olympic Trials Qualifying athletes, and a Certified USATF Level I Track and Field Coach. Her passion for fitness, health, and wellness led her to becoming the Founder and President of U.S. Elite International non-profit organization in 2005 that provides underrepresented, underserved, and under-resourced minority students with access and opportunities to achieve higher education debt free, some using their athletic gifts and talents, and others being ambassadors of physical fitness. She leads U.S. Elite’s health and wellness program that provides local communities with related resources, including conducting and participating in community health fairs and organizing 5k community runs. Dr. Thorpe Borris also serves as a strategic partner with numerous colleges and universities and has been instrumental in assisting them with resources to develop their athletic programs. Dr. Thorpe Borris is an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) with Colorado Technical University (CTU) University where she teaches undergraduate and Master level Accounting courses, and received CTU’s 2021 Distinguished Faculty of the Year Award. Throughout her academic career, Dr. Thorpe Borris has served as a peer reviewer, presenter, panelist, and session chair for several conferences including the International Academy of Management and Business’ International Conferences on Business and the JAABC International Business, Finance, and Economic Research Conference. She also published academic research papers on education and technology and Accounting discipline topics, in peer-reviewed journal and international academic conference proceedings. Dr. Thorpe Borris is also a Commissioned Financial Institution Examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). At the FDIC, Dr. Thorpe Borris is a co-founding member and current Chair for the Association of African American Professionals (diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility) employee resource group and is a Regional Chair for the Chairman’s Diversity Advisory Council (CDAC). She has been the recipient of the FDIC’s Mission Achievement Award for CDAC and Chairman Awards: Nancy K. Rector Award for Public Service and the Annie D. Moore EEO, Diversity, and Inclusion Award. Dr. Thorpe Borris holds a Ph.D. in Advanced Accounting from Northcentral University (receiving Distinguished Dissertation of the Year and academic honors), an MBA in Accounting from Bowie State University (with honors), and a B.S.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Central Missouri. She also earned certificates from University of South Florida Muma College of Business in “Inclusive and Ethical Leadership” and “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace.” In addition, she is a current Graduate School USA Executive Leadership Program Candidate.
