Session description: The presentation will discuss the various dimensions of wellness, and the role of finance in promoting wellness. It will hence argue that knowledge of finance (i.e., financial literacy) is an essential skill for everyone to have in order to promote their wellness, and that lack of finance knowledge often leads to poor wellness outcomes.​

Bio:  Professor Srinivasan Krishnamurthy (Srini) received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. Subsequent to his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad, India, he worked with Deutsche Bank AG and ANZ Grindlays Bank plc. as a foreign exchange and money market trader. He was responsible for managing the Bank’s foreign exchange exposure, managing the Bank’s bond portfolio, and providing risk management advice to corporate clients. He obtained his PhD in Finance from Tulane University in New Orleans. His primary research and teaching interests are corporate finance and investments/capital markets. His research papers have been published in the leading finance and accounting journals and presented at major conferences and universities, both in the US and abroad. His research has been featured in major newspapers such as LA Times, Barron’s (lead article), etc.
