Session description: Now more than ever, emotional mindset shifts are vital to maintaining workplace wellness. A large percentage of employees are experiencing heightened emotions due in part to burnout, toxic workplace cultures, and lack of emotional wellness resources and support. Emotions at work are amplified by these factors and overlapping world challenges, especially for diverse underrepresented populations. A 2020 Harvard Business Review study revealed 62 percent of respondents said they were struggling to manage their workloads through burnout, 89 percent said their life at work was getting worse, and 85 percent said their well-being had declined. An emotional mindset shift confronts our viewpoints on the ability to manage our emotions and the emotions of others at work. Our ability to confront emotions using self-awareness has roots in emotional intelligence. This microlearning session will provide audiences practicum to understand, apply, and reflect on the following three emotional mindset shifts to maintain workplace wellness: relax, release, and reset.
